173. जो कोई निर्वाचन के परिणाम को प्रभावित करने के आशय से कोई ऐसा कथन करेगा या प्रकाशित करेगा जो तथ्य का कथन होने का तात्पर्यित है, जो मिथ्या है और जिसके बारे में वह या तो जानता है या विश्वास करता है कि वह मिथ्या है या जिसके सत्य होने का उसे विश्वास नहीं है, किसी अभ्यर्थी के व्यक्तिगत चरित्र या आचरण के संबंध में, वह जुर्माने से दण्डित किया जाएगा।
